I wish I were…..

I wish I were a kite…
So that I could rise
Above this building’s height.
I wish I were a bird…
So that I could fly.
And reach above the kite.
I wish I were a cloud…
So that I could move,
Above these little birds.
I wish I were a plane…
So that I could rise,
Above the clouds and the hills.

Teachers – you are blessed

Teachers are the builders of nation. Students learn devotion, commitment, compassion, diligence from their teachers. Teachers not only affect the mind of students but their lives too. It may sound ditched but I am sure that all of you will agree that our teachers are our maters in school. They shape the personality of their student & good teacher always treats each child with a unique character. She is of an idea that each student represents an opportunity to change the world and an encouraging word, an encouraging note, a personal concern on teacher’s part- takes, very little to make a great impact. It is the teachers whom god has given the singular opportunity to reverse the emotional direction of our student.

“Peace can only be achieved by understanding”

There was once a king who announced that he would offer a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists show cased their talent but the king liked two pictures the most. One picture depicted a calm lake, blue sky with fluffy white clouds. Everyone thought it to be the perfect picture of peace.
The other picture had bare and rugged mountains, angry sky with rain and lightning.
They didn’t look peaceful at all. But when the king looked, he saw behind the waterfall, a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird sat in perfect peace in her nest in the midst of the rush of angry, water.
Which picture do you think won the prize? The king chose the second picture. Do you know why?
“Because” the king explained “peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart.” That is the real meaning of peace.
“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it outside.

The impact of national disharmony on students

If you sat in front of a large band and the piano player, the guitarist, the drummer and the singers all started singing or playing on a different note, what would happen? You would put your fingers in your ears, shut your eyes and wrinkle your forehead in pain. You would say “this is not music. There is no harmony.” But what if a small child sat in front of this same band every day? He would soon grow to think that this was real music. And he would grow up always singing and playing out of tune.
Today, we the children of Indian are in a similar position. All around us there is national disharmony – political, social, religious – and we growing to accept it as a way of life.
Rabindranath Tagore said that “India must fight against and education that teaches us that a country is more important than the ideals of humanity.” This is true. We have developed a false sense of security, or patriotism. Mahatma Gandhi fought for freedom but he also practiced non-violence and preached “peaceful harmony helps to build a stronger nation.”
Greed for power and money invite national powers to become global powers. Global powers are far-sighted enough to realize that their power is sustainable only by involving student power. And students… young and impressionable, go like lambs to the slaughter. Therefore my dear friends, I say that the success of tomorrow’s national harmony defends on us, the students of today. If we first build ourselves to be worthy, daring and peace-loving children, only then can we hope to build this country to be strong, united, harmonious nation.
